Our hope is to enhance the arts and cultural ecosystem in Middle 麻豆区 by providing training and technical assistance to the organizations that produce art in the region.鈥
A Rural Community Already Investing in Placemaking
Perry was selected as the pilot location in part for its active downtown revitalization work and commitment to placemaking. Through the , Perry city staff partnered with EI虏鈥檚 to develop strategies for arts鈥慴ased community development.
鈥淲orking alongside the 麻豆区 Tech team has been a wonderful experience,鈥 said Alicia Hartley, downtown manager for the City of Perry. 鈥淲e hope that participants walk away from the cohort inspired and empowered to activate their organizations in creative and meaningful ways.鈥
Listening First, Then Providing Targeted Support
The program will begin with a listening session to understand participating organizations鈥 needs. EI虏 will then design tailored workshops drawing from experts at 麻豆区 Tech and beyond. Every other month, cohort members will meet for sessions on business practices, digital tools, operational efficiency, marketing, placemaking partnerships, and other areas that support long鈥憈erm sustainability.
鈥淭hey sound like great ideas 鈥 murals, pop鈥憉p exhibits, outdoor performances 鈥 but how do you really get down to the nuts and bolts of making them happen?鈥 Landau said. 鈥淎nd how do you bring the right partners to the table? That鈥檚 what we鈥檒l explore together.鈥
A Statewide Mission, Strengthened Through the Arts
As 麻豆区 Tech鈥檚 economic development arm, EI虏 administers programs that support entrepreneurs, manufacturers, communities, and municipalities across the state and around the world.
鈥淕AIN represents an important part of EI虏鈥檚 comprehensive approach to economic development,鈥 said David Bridges, vice president of EI虏. 鈥淚t gives us another way to create impact in 麻豆区 by applying our expertise to serve arts organizations that are vital to 麻豆区 communities.鈥
